The “Why” Behind the Business

I created Faithful Fruitions to support your journey from bump to baby. My passion is to help moms and their babies throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. I believe all moms should have the chance to deliver their baby with as much support as they need.

This passion for moms stemmed from my husband and my infertility journey. We desired to have a baby of our own, but the Lord had not yet answered our prayer. During that time, my friends started having babies and detailing their birth stories to me. I will admit, it was hard to hear at first. Then, I began to listen with joy as they recounted such an intense and intimate part of their lives. There was profound happiness in listening to them share their experiences. And just like fingerprints, no two stories were the same.

Some of my friends mentioned how they had amazing births and felt nothing went wrong. Others spoke on the lack of care/concern they received from their providers and staff. And the rest talked about how they would have liked more support. I felt for the ones who did not enjoy their birth experience. After talking to a friend about my heart’s desire to support moms, she introduced me to the role of a doula. I immediately started researching and grew very interested. My husband was very supportive and told me to pursue this path if I saw myself enjoying this.

I decided to go with it and attended a training. Within minutes, I LOVED what I was learning and what it meant to be a doula. The Lord was making it clear to me that this was a career I could follow. Even though I was struggling to have a baby of my own, I felt I could make a difference with other moms’ pregnancies. I desired to support them as much as I could.

So when thinking about a business name, I wanted it to have alliteration (blame the English teacher in me) and meaning. I found a verse in the Bible that was the cry of my own heart - God’s faithfulness and believing He would bring about my heart’s desire. My business was then formed on this verse:

“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.” - 2 Thessalonians 1:11 (NIV)

Paul is writing to the church of Thessalonica about the misunderstandings they have heard that the “Day of the Lord” had already passed. Paul reassures the believers, letting them know it has not occurred; they have not been left behind. Instead, he encourages them to remain steadfast in their faith amidst the persecutions and discouragements. Obviously, my situation is very different. I am not being persecuted as Paul and the church of Thessalonica. My discouragement stemmed from being infertile for years. And just like the people of Thessalonica, I needed to remain steadfast, knowing the Lord would provide.

Now, I am in my postpartum period, staring at my daughter, and seeing the Lord’s provision. He blessed my husband and me with the desire of our hearts. After years of infertility, we were blessed with a beautiful daughter named Olive. Her name means fruitfulness - God was fruitful in His provision in our lives. We are living out our own timeline of faithful fruitions.
